Well, here we are. The Wisconsin football team is falling apart.

To many, this is a wasted season. To others, it’s a part of the rebuilding process.

Either way, it sucks.

Meanwhile, the Wisconsin football team is just one win away from becoming bowl-eligible and extending their bowl appearance streak that is the longest in the country. They have two games left, both of which are rivalry games. Winning the remaining games would definitely leave fans with a little bit of a better taste in their mouth heading into next season.

The BadgerNotes staff makes their predictions for the primetime matchup with the Nebraska Cornhuskers, who are also struggling at the moment. Someone has to win this game, right?

BadgerNotes Staff Predictions: Wisconsin Football vs. Nebraska

Christian Borman (6-4): Nebraska 21-13

I said last week my homerism was running on low.

The past two weeks they played what is probably the easiest stretch of their conference schedule and lost both games pathetically. I’m done believing in this team this year.

Maybe if I pick the opposite they’ll actually win, but I think this program’s bowl-game streak is in serious jeopardy. I have faith long-term, but right now, there is a lot of negativity around this team. I need to see that they ‘give a shit.’

I’ll take Nebraska in another gut-wrenching loss.

Dillon Graff (6-4): Wisconsin 24-10

It’s hard to feel optimistic about the Wisconsin football team right now. After getting boat raced by the Northwestern Wildcats at home last weekend — it felt like the Badgers had hit rock bottom.

That said, Nebraska comes to Camp Randall with the same thing Wisconsin has on the line — bowl eligibility. While that might seem like a rather pathetic benchmark of success, the Badgers have a 21-year consecutive bowl appearance streak to protect.

I may be a fool for believing it — but I think there’s a chance this team finds a way to overcome the adversity and string together four quarters of “good enough” football to send the seniors out with a bang in their last home game.

It’ll likely be an ugly game — but it’s about playing gritty, not pretty on Saturday — give me the Badgers by two scores for no good reason.

Jake Maier (5-5): Nebraska 27-24

Dylan Buboltz (6-4): Nebraska 17-10

For the first time in my life, I don’t know what Wisconsin team is showing up to Camp Randall this week. If you had told me in August this team is playing for their bowl eligibility lives, I would have said you were crazy.

Do we see more Fickell players? Do we see more young players and upperclassmen taking a seat? I’m not sure. It is encouraging no one has left for the transfer portal as of now.

It looks like Jeff Sims will likely start for the Cornhuskers. They also sit at 5-5. With a whole game against Iowa next week, it’s not crazy to say the loser of this game will miss a bowl game. Nebraska leads the Big Ten in rushing as a team and is second worst in pass offense. They also have the best run defense in the Big Ten. Can UW successfully throw the ball and stop the run? That is key.

I don’t know the attitude and overall state of this program right now. That’s a dangerous thing to think in November. I want to pick the Badgers so bad, but I think until players who don’t want to be here are in the portal, I think the same issues occur.

It’s a shame on senior night, but there’s no reason to pick a team that hasn’t fought much in the last 2 weeks despite being the more talented team. Nebraska 17 Wisconsin 10

Ryan Eilers (5-5): Wisconsin 9-6
