Wisconsin Football Announces Big Ten Media Day Representatives
Fall camp is quickly approaching, which means Big Ten Media Day is right around the corner. On Wednesday, the Wisconsin football program announced its three players who will represent the team later this month.
The Badgers representatives will include quarterback Tanner Mordecai, running back Braelon Allen, and inside linebacker Maema Njongmeta.

Big Ten Media Days will occur Wednesday and Thursday, July 26-27, in Indianapolis.
A Look at the Wisconsin Football Reps for Big Ten Media Day
Insider linebacker Maema Njongmeta led Wisconsin football with a team-high 95 tackles last season. He also chipped in 25 pressures, 12.5 TFLs, 3.5 sacks, and an interception en route to Third-team All-Big Ten honors.
At 6 feet and 240 pounds, Njongmeta has the size and athleticism to be a dominant force in the middle of UW’s defense. The Illinois native also has the highest Pro Football Focus grade among returning linebackers nationwide (89.9).
I predict that Njongmeta will be an animal this fall and the heartbeat of the Badgers new-look defense.
Then there is newcomer Tanner Mordecai at quarterback. Mordecai is an offseason transfer from SMU who has thrown for 7,152 yards, 72 touchdowns, 22 interceptions, and had a 66.4% completion percentage over the past two seasons.
Luke Fickell/Phil Longo inherited a broken offense; however, it does return core players on the offensive line, running back, and wide receiver. All they needed was a reliable No. 1 quarterback to turn this thing into a well-oiled machine — let’s see if he’s the right man for the job.
My money is on Mordecai being the perfect option to help UW compete for the Big Ten West this fall and usher in a new era in Madison.
Lastly is Agent 0, Braelon Allen. The 6-foot-2, 238-pound RB returns for his junior season and has earned back-to-back second-team All-Big Ten honors.
Allen finished last season with 230 carries for 1,242 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also caught 13 passes for 104 yards and is expected to be among the best tailback in the country.
The Fond Du Lac native is a violent runner that will thrive in Longo’s air raid offense now that he won’t have to see a stacked box every damn snap. Allen is coming to an NFL field near you very soon.
The Wisconsin football program went 7-6 last season. The Badgers have combined for a 16-10 record in the past two years.
