Now on a two game losing streak following a 75-69 loss to Purdue, the Wisconsin Badgers basketball is back on the road. The Badgers will take on the Michigan Wolverines tonight in Ann Arbor. The Wolverines are on a five game losing streak and are last in the Big Ten with a 2-9 record and a 7-15 overall record.

Can Wisconsin basketball get over their losing streak and get back in the win column? Tip time is 6 PM on BTN. Here are three keys to a victory tonight.

Wisconsin Basketball Hitting the Reset Button

It was a tough week for Wisconsin basketball. It began with blowing a 19 point lead at Nebraska Thursday. It looked like the Badgers let their foot off the gas. They did fight back, but it was not enough to beat a Nebraska team that is 14-1 at home on the season.

Sunday had a ton of hype. It was a top six showdown with first place in the Big Ten on the line. Wisconsin never looked comfortable shooting the ball with 7’4 Zach Edey and a good Purdue defense in their faces all game.

Losing streaks happen during the season, but I think if this team hits a reset button and re-focus, I think they will be just fine. Tonight is not a guaranteed win, but this is a Michigan team struggling everywhere.

Get Crowl and Storr Going

AJ Storr had 35 points in the two games last week, but it appeared he was forcing shots and working too fast. Storr is the player Greg Gard and this Wisconsin basketball team goes to when they need a basket. When they did and needed it, he appeared to shoot very early in the shot clock or force up a bad shot.

Steven Crowl had a week to forget. He only had nine points last week. This team needs him on the offensive side. For how much he touches the ball, he need to be shooting the ball close to double digits every game.

Like Greg Gard, I have been tough on Steven Crowl this year. Too many times we see him disappear for stretch of games. For how important he is to this offense, Wisconsin basketball can’t afford to miss him for a extended time. He needs to be better and it starts tonight

Get Back to Wisconsin Basketball Basics

What have Wisconsin Badgers done well at this year? Getting touches in the paint to Tyler Wahl and Steven Crowl. When they do that, this team is successful and it leads to a shot at the rim or an open look from three.

This is also an athletic team that gets to the rim really well. We have not seen that much over the last week. Credit to Purdue as they took that away with Edey and a great defense.

The Badgers have two road games this week against last place Michigan and Rutgers, who is third from the bottom. These seem like games where Wisconsin basketball can get back to what they do best just in time for the final stretch of the regular season.
