Wisconsin Badgers Wrestling program has new InterMat rankings following their performances vs. Lindenwood and at the UW-Stevens Point Open.

Let’s take a look at where the boys are ranked now following Sundays action!

InterMat Individual Rankings

No. 5 Eric Barnett at 125 pounds. No change from last week for Barnett despite him forcing his opponent to count the lights at the UW Field House.

No. 15 Joseph Zargo at 149 pounds. Zargo moved up one spot after his 17-2 technical fall victory.

No. 4 Dean Hamiti at 165 pounds. Hamiti stayed put at No. 4 this week after his quick dispatch of his opponent Sunday. I sarcastically asked if the defending Big Ten Champion and All-American was washed because he gave up three points in his 19-3 technical fall.

Update: that was a joke and he is still an electric factory!

No. 27 Max Maylor at 174 pounds. Wisconsin sent Cale Anderson out to open the season at 174 pounds and he returned from his “7 minutes of hell” with a 17-5 major decision.

This will be an interesting weight class to keep and eye on.

InterMat Tournament and Dual Rankings Released

No. 19 Wisconsin Badgers wrestling team slipped in tournament rankings from No. 18. They fell one spot after the UW-Stevens Point Open. I am not sure what to make of this as Gavin Model (157 pounds), Graham Calhoun (165 pounds), and Brooks Empey (285 pounds) all went 5-0 and placed first in their weight classes.

No. 25 Wisconsin Badgers wrestling team moved up one spot from No. 26 after throttling the Lindenwood Lions.

What’s Next for the Wisconsin Badgers Wrestling Team

Wisconsin will send its full roster to the Michigan State Open 11/11 at Jenison Arena.
