Sandwiched between two Big Ten duals – the No. 23 Wisconsin Badgers Wrestling sent four wrestlers to compete in Don Parker Open hosted by UW–Eau Claire.

Let’s take look at the Badgers wrestlers and see how they performed in the Open.

157 pounds

Royce Nilo represented Wisconsin in the 157 pound division and finished the day with a 2–2 record overall.

To be fair, not all 2–2 records are created equal. Nilo won two of his matches in impressive fashion – an 18–3 technical fall and a 16–5 major decision.

In the two losses 2 – the freshman from Milton fell by a 3–1 sudden victory and had a medical forfeit in the final match.

165 pounds

Danny Sheen and Gavin Model were both in the 165 pound weight class and showed out for the Wisconsin Badgers!

Sheen notched a 4–1 record overall and earned a 2nd place finish. Earning two wins by bonus points – technical fall and major decision.

Model battled and was able to win two matches and finished his day with a 6th place finish and 3–2 overall record – including two pins!

285 pounds

Brooks Empey had a very good showing for the Badgers in the Parker Open. Finishing his day with a 3–1 overall record and a 3rd place finish that included a pin!
