Wisconsin Badgers Wrestling Renewed InterMat Rankings Heading into Weekend Slate

Here’s a look at where the Wisconsin Badgers wrestling program landed in the updated InterMat rankings.

The Wisconsin Badgers Wrestling program falls slightly in the most recent InterMat team rankings heading into the weekend with duals vs Northwestern and at Purdue.

The Badgers, who currently are 0–3 in the Big Ten conference, have had a tough few duals of late and need to get back on track.

The Big Ten is thee premier wrestling conference and while there are no layups on the schedule – Northwestern and Purdue are not ranked and positioned for some ‘get right’ for the boys.

InterMat Rankings for Wisconsin Badgers Wrestling

No. 2 Eric Barnett at 125 pounds. (up from No. 3)

No. 22 Joseph Zargo at 149 pounds. (up from No. 23)

No. 5 Dean Hamiti at 165 pounds. (no change)

No. 12 Max Maylor at 174 pounds. (no change)

No. 16 Shane Liegel at 184 pounds. (no change)

Regardless of what happens on Friday night vs Northwestern – the 125 pounder and No. 2 ranked wrestler, Eric Barnett, will battle with No. 1 Matt Ramos on Sunday at Purdue!

InterMat Dual and Tournament Rankings

The Wisconsin Badgers check in this week ranked  No. 23 (down from No. 17) in duals rankings and No. 14 (no change) in tournament rankings – according to InterMat.

Wisconsin hosts Northwestern on Friday 2/2 before traveling to West Lafayette for a clash with Purdue on 2/4.
