Wisconsin Badgers Football — Barry Alvarez Field
The name of former Wisconsin football coach and athletic director Barry Alvarez has been stitched into the new turf field at Camp Randall Stadium. The field has been named in his honor.

In the heart of Rockwall, Texas, a young quarterback with dreams of playing Division One football came to fruition this past June. Landyn Locke, the younger brother of redshirt freshman QB Braedyn Locke, unexpectedly committed to the Wisconsin Badgers football program during an unofficial visit.

The three-star signal caller chose UW over early offers from Miami, SMU, Tulsa, and Western Kentucky. Several other Power 5 programs were also starting to kick the tires — but the allure of playing with his brother and for Phil Longo was too much to pass up.

While his arrival is still a long way down the road, Locke announced on social media that he’s making his first return to campus since his commitment to watch the Badgers football team take on Buffalo in the season opener.

Wisconsin Badgers Football Getting Its Future QB on Campus

The Luke Fickell era of Wisconsin Badgers football has many fans bursting at the seams with excitement.

But there is also an added layer of importance this weekend because UW is hosting countless high-pedigree recruits on gameday visits — headlined by blue-chip in-state offensive tackles Owen Strebig and Michael Roeske

As it stands, Wisconsin has two verbal commits in the 2025 recruiting class: Landyn Locke and three-star defensive back Remington Moss

Having a committed player on campus at the same time as some other top-of-the-board prospects can only stand to help their chances — especially when that commit is the quarterback. Let’s see if he can put his recruiting hat on and help woo a could bookend in-state offensive tackles to protect him.
