One of the top targets for the 2025 recruiting class of the Wisconsin basketball team will take an official visit to Madison this fall.

4-star combo guard and Wisconsin native Davion Hannah is considered one of the top guards in the entire country. According to the 247Sports Composite, Hannah is the 29th-ranked player nationally and the fourth combo guard. He’s technically the third-highest-ranked player in Missouri, but he would be the top player in Wisconsin had he stayed in-state.

Hannah is scheduled to take a visit with the Wisconsin basketball team on September 14th. That is when the Wisconsin football team will host Alabama at Camp Randall, so the gameday environment is expected to be wild.

It’s going to be a big recruiting weekend for the Badgers. They are also hosting newly offered forward Amari Allen and big man Tommy Ahneman on the same day. If things go well, this could be a critical weekend for the Wisconsin basketball team.

Originally, Hannah played for the Milwaukee Academy of Science, a powerhouse Division 3 program in Wisconsin high school basketball. MAS also has other top players like Jamarion Batemon (2025 – Iowa State commit) and Duece Burks (2026 – uncommitted). They also had Devin Brown (2025 – uncommitted) who holds a handful of Division I offers, but he has recently transferred to PHH Prep in Phoenix, Arizona.

Hannah transferred from MAS to Nicolet High School early in his high school career, the same school Jalen Johnson and Kobe Johnson attended and graduated from. Hannah helped lead the Knights to a state tournament appearance last season, falling to Wisconsin Lutheran led by Kon Knueppel, a Duke commit and one of the top players in the country.

This year, you will be able to find Hannah playing for Link Academy in Branson, Missouri for his final season before going to college.

Last season, the Wisconsin basketball target averaged 19.4 points per game on 47.4 percent shooting, leading the Knights. He added 8.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game, according to wissports.net.

It’s no secret that Hannah has been one of, if not the top target for Gard and the Wisconsin basketball team for a long time. The problem with in-state recruiting in basketball is when the bluebloods come calling, it’s hard to say no. The Badgers are slowly transitioning toward having the ability to have players jump to the league early like Johnny Davis, but they aren’t close to teams like Duke, North Carolina, or Michigan State.

Hannah holds 17 Division I offers, according to 247Sports, including offers from some of the biggest programs in the country right now. Along with offers from the Wisconsin basketball team, he holds offers from Alabama, Michigan State, Louisville, Ohio State, and more.
