Pair of Wisconsin Football Signees Among Nation’s Best in Updated Recruiting Rankings
Wisconsin football signees Kevin Heywood and Emerson Mandell are on the rise.
The Wisconsin football program loaded up on offensive line talent in the Badgers’ 2024 recruiting class, with their top OL signees including Kevin Heywood and Emerson Mandell.
Both signees were ranked as four-star prospects at the time of their respective commitments, but they’ve continued to ascend up the charts as recruiting services round out their 2024 class rankings.
In the final On3 recruiting rankings update, Heywood and Mandell both jumped into the top 100.
Wisconsin Football Signees Leap to Top 100 in On3 Rankings Update
Kevin Heywood, who jumped into the top 50 in the 247Sports rankings update, finished as the No. 33 ranked player in the nation on On3, making him the highest-rated prospect on all major recruiting services. He’s also ranked as the No. 5 OT in the country and the No. 2 player in Pennsylvania, per On3.
Emerson Mandell also saw a big jump, as the Minnesota native finished as the No. 81 player in the nation, the No. 4 interior offensive lineman, and the No. 2 player in Minnesota behind Gophers commit and former Badgers target Koi Perich.
Both Heywood and Mandell will have the opportunity to push for playing time, as the Badgers lost Trey Wedig, Nolan Rucci, and Dylan Barrett to the transfer portal this offseason. Other true freshman linemen, Ryan Cory, Colin Cubberly, and Derek Jensen, will also be in the mix.
After On3’s final rankings update, the Wisconsin football program holds the No. 22 recruiting class in the nation, according to the site’s team rankings.
