On Saturday afternoon, the Wisconsin football program will host the Buffalo Bulls at Camp Randall Stadium to kick off the 2023 season.

The Badgers are ushering in a new era on Saturday afternoon. After a whirlwind of changes in the offseason, Wisconsin has a new identity and a new look for the 2023 season. Luke Fickell, Phil Longo, and Mike Tressel are all in the fold, and the hype is at another level as the new era of Badger football is upon us.

The opening matchup against Buffalo will allow the Badgers to find their footing under the new schemes. The air raid and a new 3-3-5 defensive scheme are all here, and there could be some road bumps along the way under the new coaching staff. However, a non-conference opponent like Buffalo is exactly what the Wisconsin football program needs to get off on the right foot.
