National Signing Day is just around the corner, and the Wisconsin Badgers football team, which actively has the nation’s No. 24 recruiting class, has a chance to land its top-rated 2024 prospect.

Adam Friedman of Rivals reported last night that Ernest Willor, a four-star defensive end and top 125 player in the country, has trimmed his list of schools down to the Wisconsin Badgers and Maryland. He also intends to make his decision public on Wednesday afternoon.

While not totally unexpected, this development is noteworthy because Willor holds 26 total offers from Ohio State, Georgia, Alabama, Penn State, Michigan, Cincinnati, and several others.

Willor Jr. officially visited the Wisconsin football program in early December and has been a priority target for defensive line coach Greg Scruggs ever since.

Wisconsin Football Set to Make a National Signing Day Recruiting Splash

The Wisconsin Badgers football program picked up a pair of crystal ball predictions by recruiting insiders for Ernest Willor to land in Madison a week ago. After trimming his list to two schools, you have to like their chances of adding the four-star defensive lineman even more.

Willor was scheduled to take an official visit to Maryland, his home state team, but wound up failing to take the trip.

According to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, the Concordia Prep star is the No. 114 player in the nation, the No. 17 DL, and the No. 2 player in Maryland.

If Willor officially chooses the Wisconsin football team on National Signing Day, that would give the Badgers two four-star defensive line commits in the 2024 recruiting class. To help magnify how significant that is, Wisconsin has only landed two four-star DLs since 2016.

All eyes will be on Willor on Wednesday. If he chooses to wear the Cardinal and White, the 6-foot-3, 255-pound defensive lineman would instantly become the Wisconsin Badgers’ top-rated player, according to the 247Sports recruiting database.
