The Wisconsin Badgers football program will open its doors for a rising athlete in the 2026 recruiting class in the spring.

Marcello Vitti, a Michigan native, took to social media to announce he will be making a stop in Madison, along with a handful of other schools.

Vitti made an in-season stop at Wisconsin during the week two matchup against Georgia Southern.

“My family and I had a good visit during the season,” Vitti said. “I have a lot of respect for the program and the coaching staff. The academics are also top notch.”

The 6-foot, 180-pound athlete has tallied nearly 20 total offers, with notable programs including Michigan, Penn State, Tennessee, Maryland, Kentucky, and many others throwing their hat in the ring. Despite an onslaught of early offers, the Badgers have kept themselves in the mix, thanks in part to the work Devon Spalding has done to maintain a relationship and keep tabs on Vitti.

“Coach Fickell is a highly respected head coach, and I have been developing a great relationship with Coach Spalding,” Vitti told Badgernotes.com. “I think they are building something special.”

Vitti plays both defensive back and running back at Divine Child in Dearborn, Michigan. In his sophomore campaign, Vitti tallied 1,143 all-purpose yards and 12 total touchdowns on offense. As a DB, he registered 105 tackles, 11 TFLs, six pass breakups, and two fumble recoveries. Though he stands out on both sides of the ball, the Badgers staff is recruiting Vitti as a running back.

“This is RBU, so it means a lot to be offered and recruited by Wisconsin as a running back.”

It’s still very early in his recruitment, but Vitti has a few schools that are standing out already.

“Right now, I’m most interested in Wisconsin, Penn State, Tennessee, Kansas, and Boston College,” Vitti told Badgernotes.com.

It will be worth monitoring how the relationship between the Wisconsin football program and Vitti progresses following his upcoming visit.
