It’s been a busy couple of days for the Wisconsin football program on the recruiting trail.

But Badgernotes.com can help get you back up to speed with a quick roundup of the Badgers news you may have missed.

Wisconsin Football Offers In-State DL Torin Pettaway

After a junior day visit to Madison, Wisconsin Badgers defensive line coach Greg Scruggs offered a scholarship to three-star in-state defensive lineman Torin Pettaway from Middleton.

“It’s amazing,” Pettaway told Badgernotes. “It’s every kid’s dream to have a chance to play for their hometown, so it’s truly a blessing to possibly have that opportunity to play there in the future.”

According to 247Sports, Pettaway is the No. 59 defensive lineman in the 2025 recruiting class and the No. 8 player in Wisconsin.

The 6-foot-5, 265-pound defensive end has only played one season of high school football for the Cardinals but has now added offers from Nebraska, Minnesota, UW, and the USC Trojans.

During his junior season, Pettaway recorded 25 tackles, 5.0 TFLs, four sacks, two interceptions, and a forced fumble, per WisSports, en route to first-team all-conference honors.

Wisconsin Football Staff Visits Priority Cornerback Target

On Friday, Wisconsin football cornerbacks coach Paul Haynes took a recruiting trip down to Texas to visit Zadian “Zay” Gentry.

The Badgers recently made Gentry’s top eight, which also includes Auburn, TCU, SMU, Arkansas, Baylor, Nebraska, and Oregon State. He is considered a four-star cornerback by On3.

The composite rankings have the 6-foot-1, 165 defensive back rated as the No. 39 corner in the 2025 class and the No. 56 player in Texas.

Badgers Offer 2025 Tight End During Visit

A mid-November unofficial visit to Madison from 2025 tight end Reiman Zebert for the Nebraska game paved the way for a Wisconsin football junior day recruiting trip this past weekend.

Following said visit, the 6-foot-6, 210-pound tight end from Springfield, Nebraska, left with a scholarship offer from Badgers position coach Nate Letton, joining Arkansas, Oklahoma State, Miami, and the Huskers for his services.

Per the 247Sports recruiting rankings, Zebert is the No. 32 tight end in the class and the No. 6 player in Nebraska.

Zebert was an all-state selection his junior year at Platteview Senior High School after catching 28 passes for 677 yards and seven touchdowns.
