Wisconsin Football Picks Up Crystal Ball for 2025 In-State Recruit
The Badgers are in a good spot with in-state DL Torin Pettaway.
After a junior day recruiting visit, Luke Fickell and the Wisconsin Badgers coaching staff might be nearing another addition to the football program.
Middleton defensive lineman Torin Pettaway left his trip to Madison with a big-time scholarship offer from Badgers position coach Greg Scruggs.

“It’s amazing,” Pettaway told Badgernotes. “It’s every kid’s dream to have a chance to play for their hometown, so it’s truly a blessing to possibly have that opportunity to play there in the future.”
He has seen a significant uptick in his recruitment over the last week, picking up scholarship offers from Nebraska, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and the USC Trojans. Pettaway intends to take some unofficial visits to both Minnesota and Indiana in the near future.
However, all indications are that Coach Fickell and the Wisconsin football program are now the favorites to reel in the 2025 in-state recruiting product and have put themselves in a good spot to close this thing out.
Wisconsin Football Lands Crystal Ball Predictions for DL Torin Pettaway.
On Saturday evening, the Wisconsin football team picked up a pair of crystal ball predictions from 247Sports recruiting insiders Nick Osen and Steve Wiltfong for the Badgers to secure the services of in-state defensive lineman Torin Pettaway.
Pettaway stands at 6-foot-5, 265 pounds, according to his recruiting profile, and registered 25 tackles, 5.0 TFLs, four sacks, two interceptions, and a forced fumble, per WisSports, en route to first-team all-conference honors in his first season playing football.
“I’ve spent most of my time talking to Coach [Greg] Scruggs,” Pettaway told Badgernotes. “What’s stood out the most is that we are alike and relate a lot, mostly because he did not start playing football until his senior season, so that late start is something we both have in common.”
It’s hard not to feel good about the momentum Wisconsin football has in their recruitment of Pettaway. Right now, it looks probable that the Badgers will be adding the nation’s No. 57 DL and No. 7 in-state player to an already impressive 2025 recruiting class.
