The Wisconsin football program is in the midst of a busy recruiting weekend, with multiple standout transfer targets on official visits. The Badgers are hosting a former ACC transfer quarterback, a former Big Ten WR, and a former FCS All-American OLB, among others.

Former William & Mary OLB John Pius confirmed with BadgerNotes.com earlier this week that he would be on an official visit to Wisconsin this weekend.

During the visit, Luke Fickell and the Wisconsin football program extended an offer to Pius.

Wisconsin Football Offers FCS All-American OLB Transfer

The linebacker position as a whole is an area of need for Wisconsin, and the staff has put an emphasis on getting some transfer talent at the position. UW successfully re-acquired Syracuse transfer LB Leon Lowery Jr. during one of the craziest transfer portal stories ever, but they’re still looking for upgrades.

In four seasons with William & Mary, Pius recorded 171 total tackles, 133 pressures, 40.5 TFLs, 24.5 sacks, three pass deflections, and two fumble recoveries. The former Tribe standout finished second in voting for FCS Defensive Player of the Year. Plus, he earned First Team All-Conference honors in back-to-back seasons.

A source told BadgerNotes.com that Pius is a player the Wisconsin football staff wants to bring in badly. The Badgers have him on campus, and now the offer is officially on the table, so this could be moving quickly.

If UW is able to successfully bring in Pius, he’ll be the second transfer addition in the first week of the portal being open for Wisconsin.
