The Wisconsin Badgers football team can cross one of its top transfer portal wide receiver targets off their list.

On Thursday morning, Wake Forest transfer wideout Jahmal Banks announced he was committing to the Nebraska Cornhuskers over reported offers from Wisconsin, Miami, Michigan, Minnesota, West Virginia, Purdue, and several others.

In 44 career games, Banks recorded 107 catches, 1,404 yards, and 13 touchdowns for the Deamon Deacons. He caught 59 passes for 653 yards with four touchdowns this past season and had zero drops on 88 targets.

Wisconsin Football Still Searching for a WR in the Transfer Portal

The Wisconsin Badgers football team hosted Jahmal Banks on an official visit shortly after he entered the transfer portal. At 6-foot-4 and 205 pounds, the DC native had everything they were looking for in a potential starting boundary receiver to put opposite Bryson Green.

Although the Badgers will have Will Pauling and Green back in starting roles next season, in a perfect world, they’d still find one more experienced option they could plug in to help stretch the field.

On the bright side, the Wisconsin Badgers have promising young options like Trech Kekahuna, Vinny Anthony, CJ Williams, and Quincy Burroughs, who can all push each other for the snaps vacated by Skyler Bell and Chimere Dike.

I wouldn’t rule out Wisconsin football continuing their search.
