Pro Football Focus recently released their All-Big Ten Offensive Team and there was one Wisconsin football player on the list.

Now, they released their All-Big Ten Defensive team, and a couple of Wisconsin Badgers players finally got the credit they deserved.

After being brutally undervalued by the coaches and media’s All-Big Ten Teams, safety Hunter Wohler and cornerback Ricardo Hallman were each named to PFF’s All-Big Ten First Team.

Hunter Wohler, arguably Wisconsin’s most important player on the defensive side of the ball was named to PFF’s All-Defensive Team as a ‘Flex’ player.

Not labeling Wohler as a safety makes sense because logged snaps at five different positions on defense this season. In fact, the safety logged most of his snaps in the box. Free safety was second-most.

This season, Wohler had just one game with a ‘below average’ defensive grade. The other 12 games he played in he had an ‘above average’ defensive grade or higher.

Ricardo Hallman joined Wohler on the team, earning recognition for being the Wisconsin football team’s shutdown cornerback this season. He tied Purdue safety Dillon Thieneman for the most interceptions in the conference with six, including a pick-six against Rutgers.

Hallman shined this season, consistently locking down opposing receivers.

His biggest moment this year was his performance against Ohio State. He kept Belitnikoff-winner, Marvin Harrison Jr., in check. In that game, Hallman received a 77.2 (above average) defensive grade and an 83.8 (good) coverage grade. It was his second-highest graded game of the season, behind his performance against Rutgers.
