The Wisconsin football coaching staff recently parted ways with three-star safety Kahmir Prescott, a member of the 2024 recruiting class, just weeks away from National Signing Day.

Now, there’s some smoke that defensive back Xavier Lucas, who visited Miami over the weekend, could be the next Wisconsin Badgers recruit to de-commit.

That belief got an added boost when Stephen Wagner, a Miami Hurricanes recruiting writer for CaneSport of On3, put in a prediction for the Badgers commit to flip in favor of the U.

Wisconsin Football Commit Xavier Lucas Could Flip in Favor of Miami.

It’s no secret that Xavier Lucas, who is a Florida native, has preferred to be close to home; he just wanted that destination to be Florida State. When that didn’t materialize, he committed to the Wisconsin football team but has seemingly been looking over his shoulder ever since.

Lucas has visited Miami at least thrice and stopped by Florida State in November, at least according to reports.

According to the composite recruiting rankings, Lucas is the No. 626 player in the nation, the No. 65 safety, and the No. 84 player in Florida.

Right now, Luke Fickell and the Wisconsin football program currently have Jay Harper, Omillio Agard, and Raphael Dunn in the 2024 recruiting class. Still, the Badgers may have to fill Lucas’s spot late in the cycle or via the transfer portal if his de-commitment comes to fruition.
