Wisconsin Football Commit Makes Huge Jump in Recruiting Rankings
This Wisconsin football commit is on the rise!
This week, the 247Sports recruiting database received an update, resulting in a notable shift in the rankings for a 2024 Wisconsin football commit.
Dillan Johnson, the defensive lineman whom the Badgers coaching staff successfully flipped from Northwestern, has made a significant leap in the rankings.
He has now achieved four-star status and holds the impressive position of No. 149 in the country among overall recruits. Moreover, Johnson’s rating has also seen an increase, jumping from 88 to 92.
Wisconsin Football Commit Shoots Up the Recruiting Rankings
Luke Fickell and the Wisconsin football coaching staff desperately needed an influx of talent on the defensive line in the 2024 cycle.
Wisconsin’s early discovery and evaluation of Dillan Johnson have certainly paid off. Johnson’s national ranking has soared by 449 spots, making him the second-highest-rated recruit for the Badgers according to the 247Sports composite.
Should Johnson maintain his four-star status, the Illinois native would become just the third defensive line recruit rated that highly to commit to the Wisconsin football program since 2016 — with the others being Garrett Rand and Isaac Hamm.
As it stands, UW holds just one other commit on the defensive line in the 2024 cycle — Hank Weber. Although, the Badgers have been kicking the tires on a few late bloomers this fall.
