Wisconsin Basketball Star Receives ESPN 2025 NBA Mock Draft Update

Could Wisconsin basketball star AJ Storr be an NBA draft pick in 2025?

Sophomore A.J. Storr has been one heck of a bright spot for the Wisconsin Badgers basketball program this season.

The 6’7, St. John’s transfer was a near-perfect addition to the squad, leading the Badgers with 16.3 points per game. While he continues to make national headlines with his highlight dunks and high-scoring performances, ESPN’s Jonathan Givony sees an even brighter future for the 20-year-old — the NBA draft expert predicts Storr to be drafted in the second round of the 2025 NBA draft.

Wisconsin Basketball Star Could Be a Second Round Pick in 2025

After an electric start to the 2023-24 season, a future in the NBA looks likely for the sophomore guard.

On top of his recent draft predictions, Storr will probably stay another year in Madison to boost his stock. Given his unique athleticism, shot-making abilities, and unbelievable ceiling, it’s hard to imagine that Storr is done climbing up the draft boards. The Rockford, Illinois native is currently expected to land in Charlotte with the 54th pick in the draft.

In recent weeks, Storr has drawn comparisons to Minnesota Timberwolves all-star Anthony Edwards — one of the NBA’s most exciting players to watch. Edwards was drafted as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 draft, and is known for his glaring similarities to one of the greatest players of all time, Michael Jordan.

So yeah, A.J. Storr is practically MJ.

Some of Storr’s season highlights include back-to-back 28-point performances against Michigan State and Nebraska, a 29-point showing vs. Chicago State, and a devastating stare-down dunk against Maryland on home court. Storr is yet to score in the single digits once this season — an unreal feat.

With the Big Ten Conference Tournament and March Madness right around the corner, expect Storr to continue to be the centerpiece for Greg Gard and the Wisconsin Badgers basketball program. The Badgers are set to face Indiana, Illinois, Rutgers, and Purdue to close out conference play as they continue their battle back into the nation’s top 25.
