Wisconsin Basketball Showing Interest in Promising 2026 Recruit From Indiana

Reitz’s Braylen Langley (20) dunks the ball as the Harrison Warriors play the Reitz Panthers at Harrison High School in Evansville, Ind., Friday, Feb. 10, 2023.

The July evaluation period is when Greg Gard and the Wisconsin basketball coaching staff put in overtime scouting recruits on the national stage to assemble their respective boards.

A new name recently surfaced in the 2026 recruiting class in forward Braylen Langley, who has reportedly heard from Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio State, and Purdue.

As it stands, the 6-foot-7 forward holds two known offers from Jacksonville and Youngstown State but is quickly picking up steam as a player that will have plenty of Power 5’s entering the mix.

Why Wisconsin Basketball Having Interest in Braylen Langley Makes Sense

Braylen Langley is an incredibly high-ceiling young talent in the 2026 cycle out of Evansville, Indiana. The Wisconsin basketball coaching staff has yet to make any known scholarship offers in the 2026 recruiting class — but starting to build a relationship with a Midwestern talent like Langley is a no-brainer.

Langley is lanky, extremely athletic, has a nice left-handed stroke from beyond the arc, and finishes well in the lane. More importantly, he’s a good defensive player who knows how to use his length to clog up passing lanes. There is plenty to like here, even though he’s still so young.

Right now, Langley runs with the Indy Heat Gym Rats on the Nike EYBL Circuit, the same program with 17U standouts Trent Sisley and Jalen Haralson in it, each holding an offer from the Badgers.

Indiana has a long history of turning out talented recruits. After hitting on shooting guard Connor Essegian in the 2022 class, it wouldn’t hurt to see if Wisconsin basketball can capitalize on his in-state ties as a selling point.
