The Wisconsin basketball program bounced back on Friday night, as the Badgers defeated Indiana 91-79 to improve to 14-4 on the season.

While it was encouraging to see UW get back on track after a tough loss to Penn State, there was a big question mark looming after Kamari McGee suffered an injury.

McGee was ruled out after taking a hard fall and not being able to put weight on his right foot. He later returned to the bench in a walking boot. The junior guard played 10 minutes, recording four points, two rebounds, and an assist.

Wisconsin basketball head coach Greg Gard was asked about Kamari McGee during post game media availability, and provided a bit of an encouraging update on his status.

“He’s a little banged up, but it sounds like he’ll be okay,” Gard told reporters. “I don’t know when that will be, but preliminary reports are everything will be okay. I don’t know how long he’ll be out, or if he’ll be out, but we’ll see as time goes on.”

Wisconsin basketball is in wait-and-see mode for McGee’s injury status at this time, but the Badgers will have a couple of days off before heading to Minneapolis to take on the Gophers on Tuesday night, which will give McGee a chance to heal up.

If he’s not able to go, look for true freshman guard John Blackwell to get some extended run.
