Wisconsin basketball headed to East Lansing to open up Big Ten play against Michigan State. The Badgers were looking for their 6th straight win and for 3 straight wins at Michigan State for the first time. They got it done with a 70-57 win. Here are 3 takeaways from the win.

Wisconsin Basketball 3-Point Shooting

Wisconsin basketball had the upper hand from beyond the arc entering tonight. Michigan State came into the game as one of the worst 3-point shooting teams in the Big Ten. Wisconsin opened the night 3/3 from downtown, setting the tone for the rest of the game. The Spartans and Tyson Walker heated up from 3 in the second half going 5/6 to open up the half. However, Wisconsin was able to weather the storm.

The Badgers finished 10/23, while Michigan State was just 6/19.

AJ Storr & Steven Crowl Dominate

The duo of the game tonight for Wisconsin basketball was Steven Crowl and AJ Storr. Crowl opened the night 2/2 from 3, showing off his range, which we haven’t seen much this season. Crowl was just 3/5 from 3 this season coming into the game, and tonight shot 4/4. Steven finished with 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists, continuing his excellent start to the season.

Transfer AJ Storr once again had a very explosive offensive game. 22 points on 8/11 shooting and 4/6 from 3. When Storr is aggressive, this Badger team looks so much better. Robbie Hummel mentioned that Storr certainly has the athleticism and body for the NBA, and I couldn’t agree more. 6’7 with elite athleticism and tough shot-making ability. If he continues to progress as a defender, look out.

Up Next for Wisconsin Basketball

The gauntlet continues for Wisconsin basketball as they head to Arizona this weekend to face the number 1 team in the country. We mentioned this tough stretch for the Badgers, and so far, they’ve responded by going 2-0. A win over the Wildcats would propel Wisconsin to at least the top 15, maybe the top 10 in the country. Nonetheless, it is an incredible opportunity for this group to get a huge win.

Shoutout to this team, who also went 14/14 from the free-throw line tonight.
