Luke Fickell and the Wisconsin Badgers football team have been scouring the transfer portal for the past couple of weeks in search of a veteran cornerback.

The Badgers recently hosted Toledo transfer cornerback Ronald Delancy on a visit to Madison this past weekend, and he will now weigh his list of options, including Auburn and Memphis.

Delancy started his career at Nebraska but played in 38 games the last three seasons while at Toledo. During his junior season, he registered 28 tackles, 10 pass deflections, and an interception.

He’ll have one year of eligibility at his next stop.

Wisconsin Badgers in the Mix for Toledo Transfer Ronald Delancy

The Wisconsin Badgers football team wants to add a veteran to the secondary for the 2024 season. Ricardo Hallman and Nyzier Fourqurean are returning, but the loss of slot corner Jason Maitre has the recruiting staff in pursuit of a viable plug-and-play replacement.

Ronald Delancy offers a solution to that problem. Pro Football Focus gave Delancy an 85.1 grade this past season, which is borderline elite. At 6 feet, he also offers the size this staff wants at cornerback.

Additionally, he has experience playing both the slot and boundary spots.

Wisconsin football must now wait and see if they’ll land Delancy. It’s also worth noting that New Mexico State cornerback Andre Seldon was also on campus this past week, so the Wisconsin Badgers should have their answer soon.
