Former Wisconsin Badgers offensive lineman Tyler Biadasz has found a new home in the NFL shortly after free agency began.

Per a report by NFL.com’s Ian Rapaport, Biadasz will sign with the Washington Commanders after four seasons with the Dallas Cowboys. It will be a three-year deal worth up to $30 million.

Biadasz will head to Washington under new Commanders head coach Dan Quinn, who spent the last two seasons as the Cowboys’ defensive coordinator. He’ll bring a boost to the Commanders offensive line that ranked ninth in the NFL in run blocking in 2023, and some consistency as Washington has had several injury issues at center for the past few years.

Former Wisconsin Badgers Inks Three-Year Free Agent Deal

Biadasz has had a strong start to his career after being selected in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Biadasz started every game at center for Dallas in the last three seasons and earned Pro Bowl honors in 2022. In 61 games played, the former Badger has allowed just three total sacks.

After redshirting his freshman year in 2016, Biadasz became a stalwart on Wisconsin’s offensive line. Over his next three seasons with the program, he started in all 41 games at center. Biadasz was a key part of the offensive line that blocked for Jonathan Taylor en route to two consecutive Doak Walker Award wins.

In 2017, Biadasz received Freshman All-American honors from the FWAA and USA Today while also adding a third-team All-Big Ten nod. He followed that up with an All-American honorable mention and a consensus first-team All-Big Ten nomination in 2018.

His best season came in 2019 when the Badgers star earned the Rimington Trophy, given to the nation’s best center. He was also named a finalist for the Outland Trophy, given to the NCAA’s best interior lineman, and earned unanimous first-team All-American and first-team All-Big Ten honors.

Biadasz has had a strong start to his NFL career, and it will be exciting to see if the change of scenery will bring about more success for the former Wisconsin Badgers star.
