The Wisconsin State Championships concluded last week, and with that, standout players all over the state received honors for their play in the 2023-24 season. Zach Kinziger, the Wisconsin Badgers basketball program’s sole 2025 commit, was among those honored, earning Division 1 All-State recognition.

According to the composite rankings, Kinziger is ranked as the No. 193 player in the nation, the No. 32 SG, and the No. 4 player in Wisconsin.

Wisconsin Basketball Commit Zach Kinziger Had a Standout Junior Season

In his junior campaign at De Pere High School, Kinziger notched averages of 19.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game en route to a First-Team All-Conference recognition.

Kinziger, along with fellow De Pere All-State honoree Will Hornseth, led the Redbirds to a 27-2 overall record and a perfect 19-0 record in conference play. De Pere came up short in their quest for a second straight state championship win, falling in the second round of the WIAA playoffs to the eventual Division 1 runner-up, Arrowhead High School.

The Wisconsin commit gave his verbal pledge to the Badgers in August of 2023 over other offers from Toledo, Illinois State, UW-Green Bay, and Cal Poly. It’s also worth noting that he was the first in-state prospect to announce his commitment to UW since 2020.

Kinziger has flashed with his ability as a three-point shooter and scrappy defender, and he only got better in his junior campaign. It will be fun to watch how the Wisconsin basketball commit progresses in his senior year before he makes his way to Madison in 2025.
