Wisconsin Football Specialist Invited to NFL Combine Showcase
Wisconsin football long snapper Peter Bowden will be showcased at the NFL Combine.
Things have slowed down dramatically for the Wisconsin football program as of late, but some former Badgers are set to participate in the upcoming NFL Combine, with Braelon Allen, Tanor Bortolini, and Maema Njongmeta making their way to Indianapolis.
This year’s NFL Combine will have something new in the fold, as the NFL will host several kickers, punters, and long snappers in a Specialist Showcase at the end of this year’s event.
Though special teams can often be overlooked, they’re a crucial part of a football program, and this event will give some under-the-radar specialists a chance for some recognition.
Long snappers, including Marco Ortiz (Nebraska), William Mote (Georgia), Joe Shimko (NC State), and Wisconsin’s own Peter Bowden, among others, were invited to this year’s Specialist Showcase.

Wisconsin Football Long Snapper Peter Bowden to Get Some Looks at the Specialist Showcase
Bowden decided to forgo his final year of eligibility to enter the NFL Draft after five seasons with Wisconsin.
Coming out of high school, Bowden was considered a five-star long snapper and the No. 12 LS in the country, per Kohl’s Kicking. He was also rated as the No. 5 long snapper in the 2019 recruiting class by Rubio Long Snapping.
Bowden appeared in 39 games in a Badger uniform, making his first start in the 2021 season. The San Diego native was in the running for the Patrick Mannelly Award — given to the nation’s top long snapper — twice during his time in Madison, being named a semifinalist in 2022 and a finalist in 2023.
The NFL Combine kicks off February 29th at 2:00 PM CST.
