The spring transfer portal for college football is open for just another couple of days. There are a handful of Wisconsin football players who have decided to enter the portal in search of a new team in the past week.

So far the Badgers have lost DL Gabe Kirschke, WR Tommy McIntosh, and DL Mike Jarvis this spring.

Defensive back A.J. Tisdell is the latest player to enter the portal.

According to the 247Sports composite, the 5-10 defensive back was a 3-star recruit. He was the no. 81 cornerback and 796th overall recruit in the country.

He committed to the Wisconsin football program over multiple Power 5 schools like Cal, Kansas State, Baylor, and Texas Tech, among others.

Tisdell, a native of College State, was a part of the Wisconsin football 2023 recruiting class. He was originally committed to the Badgers as a part of Paul Chryst’s class but stayed on with Wisconsin after the program changed to Luke Fickell.

With Fickell and defensive coordinator Mike Tressel taking over, they started targeting bigger defensive backs. Between Fickell’s incoming recruits and additions via the transfer portal, Tisdell was getting buried on the depth chart.

Tisdell redshirted his true freshman season and did not appear in any games.
