The Wisconsin football team has made a handful of offers to visiting prospects so far this spring. One of the positions they have been targeting is running back. They offered 2026 running back Davis Winn out of Southlake, Texas on Saturday. But that wasn’t the only running back to get an offer from the Badgers.

2027 running back Jance Henry Jr. out of Central Valley High School (Monaca, PA) also received a scholarship offer from the Badgers.

As a freshman, Henry played in 12 games for his varsity team. According to MaxPreps, he totaled 1,008 yards and 13 touchdowns on 144 carries. He averaged 7.0 yards per carry and 84 yards per game. He also added three receptions for 52 yards.

The 5-8 190lb back made an unofficial visit to the Wisconsin football team over the weekend, taking in the Badgers’ practice and meeting with the coaching staff.

“Practice was great, it was fast-paced, the RBs were running through people, and the staff coaches really hard, I’m a fan of all 3,” Jance told Badger Notes.

Like many of the recruits who visit Madison for the first time, he was pleasantly surprised by what he found.

“Honestly I didn’t know what to expect when I was going to Madison, Wisconsin. It wasn’t cows and cornfields like I expected. It’s a real college town, it’s a place I feel I can get the real college experience. Wisconsin football, well the name speaks for itself.’

According to 247Sports, Wisconsin is the sixth Division I school to offer Jance a scholarship. The Badgers may be early to the party, but it won’t take long for his offer list to grow in the future.  Jance is also getting interest from multiple Big Ten and ACC schools and hearing from a couple of SEC schools as well.

But right now, the Wisconsin football team may have put themselves in a good spot early. “It’s still early in the process but Wisconsin is RBU and their history with RBs makes it a really attractive destination and I love what the program has to offer.”
