The Wisconsin football program is making waves in the early stages of the 2025 recruiting cycle, securing six commitments, including a significant verbal pledge from 4-star safety Jaimier Scott this Saturday.

Adding to that momentum, three-star safety Cody Haddad joined the recruiting class earlier this week, but the attention hasn’t waned. In fact, it’s begun to pick up since he gave his verbal to the Badgers.

Haddad announced that he received an offer from one of the Big Ten’s finest: the Ohio State Buckeyes. Ryan Day and his staff hosted Haddad on an unofficial visit earlier this year, but they probably thought they’d have more time due to him missing a good chunk of his junior season.

The Ohio native currently holds the No. 457 national ranking, standing as the No. 31 ATH and the 15th player in Ohio according to industry-generated composite rankings. When he committed to the Wisconsin football team, Haddad held offers from Duke, Boston College, Nebraska, Cincinnati, Kansas, Liberty, Nebraska, Kent State, and Purdue.

Wisconsin Football Must Fend Off Ohio State for 2025 Recruit

Projected to play safety at the next level, Cody Haddad was initially recruited by former Wisconsin football safeties coach and co-defensive coordinator Colin Hitschler, who recently joined Alabama.

With Hitschler’s departure, a few teams want to see just how firm Haddad is in his commitment, making it an intriguing storyline to follow between now and the official visit season this summer.

The Wisconsin Badgers are doing an excellent job building depth in the defensive back positions for the 2025 cycle, boasting commitments from Jaimier Scott, Remington Moss, and Haddad. As the upcoming seasons mark the final campaigns for Hunter Wohler and (possibly) Kamo’i Latu, bolstering depth in this area becomes a vital position to stockpile.

Currently standing at No. 9 in the nation according to the 247Sports rankings, Wisconsin football is carving a path of success in the 2025 recruiting class. Stay tuned for more updates as Ohio State continues its pursuit of the Badgers’ safety commit.
