Wisconsin football will welcome a three-star running back in the 2025 recruiting class to campus during an upcoming spring practice.

Cale Breslin, a Nevada native, took to social media to announce he’ll be in attendance for the Badgers’ 11th practice session on April 23rd, his first trip to Madison.

“I’m feeling great and I’m excited to get to Wisconsin,” Breslin told Badgernotes. “I’ve never been there, so I’m looking forward to meeting the coaching and support staff and checking out the campus and the city of Madison.”

Though this will be his first time meeting the staff in person, running backs coach Devon Spalding has kept in contact, and Breslin was very complimentary of the Badgers staff.

“I think the Badgers have an elite coach staff. I don’t think you can deny Coach Fickell’s track record and what he was able to do at Cincinnati. I have a great relationship with Coach Spalding and can see myself playing for him.

“I also like the way Coach Longo runs the offense, and I think they have a winning culture and are building a championship team.”

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound running back is coming off a strong junior season at Faith Lutheran High School. According to MaxPreps, he logged 1,226 yards and ten touchdowns on 184 carries and 15 catches for 224 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Breslin is rated as the No. 101 running back in the nation and the No. 13 player in Nevada per the 247Sports rankings. He’s yet to pick up an offer from the Wisconsin football team, but some Power Four programs have recently jumped into the mix.

“Syracuse and Indiana just offered, which I’m very thankful for. Of course, (I’m hearing from) coach Spalding at Wisconsin. I also have great relationships with Coach Unga from BYU, Coach Swanson at NAU, and Coach Lucas from ODU. I’ve been talking to Army, Utah State, Boise State, Boston College, and others.”

As his recruitment picks up steam, it will be worth monitoring if UW jumps into the mix.

The Wisconsin football program holds seven commitments in the 2025 cycle, rated as the No. 16 recruiting class in the nation per the composite rankings.
