The transfer portal bug has been hitting teams hard the past few weeks and the Wisconsin football team is no exception.

Defensive lineman Rodas Johnson entered the transfer portal on December 24th, missing the Badgers’ bowl game against LSU.

After being in the portal for a couple of weeks, Johnson announced on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) that he would be transferring to Texas A&M.

Johnson will have one more year of eligibility with the Aggies.

Johnson appeared in 29 games for the Wisconsin football team in his career, totaling 51 total tackles and 2.5 sacks.

The Badgers recruited Johnson out of Columbus, Ohio as a part of their 2019 class.

According to the 247Sports composite, Johnson was a 3-star defensive tackle and the 423rd-overall recruit in the country. He was the 32nd-ranked defensive tackle and 16th-overall player in Ohio.

Rodas Johnson leaving the program left the Badgers pretty thin at an already thin position group. The Badgers had to convert TJ Bollers from an outside linebacker to a defensive end in order to get through the bowl game vs. LSU.

The Badgers have been linked to multiple defensive tackles in the transfer portal as they try to replace Johnson, They also have Ernest Willor Jr., Dillan Johnson, and Hank Weber joining the program as a part of the 2024 recruiting class.
