Wisconsin Football Specialist Earns Big Ten Player of the Week Honors

In a season marked by his impeccable kicking record, Nathanial Vakos continues to shine for the Wisconsin Badgers football team. Vakos, the Ohio transfer, has been a picture of perfection, successfully converting all seven of his field goals and 14 extra-point attempts this season.

His remarkable performance extended into the recent game against Purdue, where Vakos went a flawless 3-for-3 on field goals, showcasing his continued reliability as a kicker in the 38-17 win over the Boilermakers.

Vakos’ kicks against Purdue covered varying distances, including a 48-yarder, a 38-yarder, and a 22-yarder, each executed with precision. Such outstanding contributions did not go unnoticed, as he was awarded the Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week for his exceptional display.

Among Big Ten kickers, Nathanial Vakos stands tall with the second-highest number of successful field goals this season, making his mark as a reliable asset for this Wisconsin Badgers team. Notably, he holds the record for the most field goals made without a single miss.

This recognition marks a significant achievement for Vakos, making him the first Wisconsin football player to claim this honor since Collin Larsh did so in 2021, following his outstanding three-field-goal performance that also came against Purdue.
