Former Wisconsin Badgers Running Back Heading to NFL Combine
The former Badgers tailback will have a chance to prove himself in front of NFL scouts.
Not long ago, former Wisconsin Badgers running back Isaac Guerendo declared for the 2024 NFL Draft after a breakout campaign under head coach Jeff Brohm and the Louisville Cardinals this past season.
“Card Nation, First, I want to start by thanking God for being by my side through every step of my journey,” Guerendo wrote. “Without him, none of this would be possible. To my family and friends, thank you for the unconditional love and support that you have shown me throughout this process. To my teammates, thank you for the friendships and bonds that will last a lifetime. Thank you to the University of Wisconsin and Coach Chryst for giving me an opportunity to play at such a great university. Forever a Badger!”
Now, Guerendo will have a chance to prove himself in front of NFL scouts in Indianapolis because he’s been invited to the NFL Scouting Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium on February 29.

The Indiana native finished this past season with 810 yards and 11 touchdowns on 132 carries and 22 receptions for 234 yards, totaling 1,044 yards from scrimmage—all career highs. Guerendo was also Louisville’s leading kick returner, logging 11 returns for 211 yards.

Isaac Guerendo initially joined the Wisconsin Badgers football team as a member of the 2018 recruiting class under head coach Paul Chryst as a wide receiver over offers from the Air Force, Army, Ball State, and Eastern Michigan.
He would later transition into a running back role for the Badgers and had an impressive 2022 season filling in for the injuries Chez Mellusi, rushing for 385 yards and five touchdowns. He also added 115 receiving yards and a touchdown for 500 total yards from scrimmage.
The former Wisconsin Badgers tailback transferred to Lousiville for the expanded opportunity and parlayed that into a shot at the NFL. I wouldn’t be shocked to see a team take a chance on his game-breaking speed and versatility as a pass-catcher in the mid to late rounds if he can put together some good testing numbers at the combine.
