It feels like a lifetime ago since the Wisconsin football team took the field, when, in fact, it was just six days ago. Maybe I’m just ready to watch the Wisconsin Badgers (hopefully) get back into the win column this week.

The Badgers hit the road to take on one of the worst teams in the Big Ten Conference, the Indiana Hoosiers.

The Hoosiers enter the game with a 2-6 overall record and have yet to win a conference game. Indiana scores just 18.6 points per game. Right now, only Michigan State has a worse scoring offense. Defensively, it’s not much better. The Hoosiers all 29.8 points per game, ahead of only the Purdue Boilermakers, whom the Badgers hung 38 points on this year.

If there’s ever a game to get back on track during a loss, this is it.

So let’s take a look at how the BadgerNotes staff predicts this game will go with their Week 10 predictions.

BadgerNotes Staff Predictions: Wisconsin Football vs. Indiana

Christian Borman (6-2): Wisconsin 28-14

I’m going to go out on a limb and assume neither Braelen Allen nor Chimere Dike are going to play this week. While it sucks losing Chim, the Badgers still have plenty of weapons at the receiver position. In fact, maybe someone other than Will Pauling will be able to break out and become a bigger part of the offense for the rest of the season.

Allen, on the other hand, is a huge loss. Having your top two running backs out is not ideal. I like Jackson Acker just fine, but he isn’t Braelon Allen. The Badgers are going to have to pass more than they probably want to this week. Indiana is the middle of the pack in the conference in passing yards allowed per game. But I’m guessing they are there because they allow a lot more in the run and not because they are actually decent at defending the pass. They allow 7.3 yards per pass, third-worst in the conference ahead of just Michigan State (7.7) and Purdue (7.7).

Even with the missing players, I think the Wisconsin defense will be able to shut down the Hoosier offense and score enough to take home the W, it just might not be as dominant as people would expect. But a win is a win.

Dillon Graff (6-2): Wisconsin 20-13

With Wisconsin football coming off a tough loss to Ohio State and injuries beginning to mount — there’s arguably nowhere better the Badgers could be headed this week than Bloomington, Indiana.

Tom Allen and the Hoosiers are a borderline dumpster fire — with their only wins on the season coming against Akron and Indiana State. Did I mention they haven’t won a Big Ten game yet, either? It’s not good.

If this is going to be the Braedyn Locke show without Braelon Allen in the backfield — points in this one could be tough to come by. That said, I’ll take the Badgers by a touchdown in an ugly game where the defense puts the offense on its back — and Wisconsin stays alive in the Big Ten West race.

Jake Maier (5-3): Wisconsin 27-21

Dylan Buboltz (6-2): Wisconsin 24-17

It’s do-or-die now for the Badgers as they have no more room for error. Saturday seems like a get right game. Indiana is 2-6 with their bowl eligibility on the line. They are horrible on special teams and won’t wow you on offense.

Defensively I think their front 7 could give Wisconsin trouble. This is a game the offense line has to win. If the Badgers win the special teams phase, I think they win.

I don’t think this one is pretty, but I like the Badgers to escape Bloomington. 24-17 UW

Ryan Eilers (5-3): Wisconsin 42-13
