Wisconsin football travels to Bloomington to face Tom Allen and a struggling Indiana Hoosiers team at Memorial Stadium this Saturday.

Indiana comes into this one with a record of 2-6, having lost four straight games, and is still looking for its first win in Big Ten play.

Their only wins of the season came against Akron and Indiana State — but it’s worth mentioning that Indiana went toe-to-toe with Penn State on the road last weekend before falling just short, 33-24, in Happy Valley.

As it stands, kickoff is set for Noon ET (11 Central) on Saturday and will air on FS1. But before that happens, here is a look at some key players, a few matchup notes, and the opening spread before the Wisconsin Badgers Week 10 road matchup.

Key  Players

QB Brendan Sorsby: The Indiana Hoosiers have the second-worst scoring offense in the Big Ten — and are No. 11 in total offense. Not great.

However, Indiana might have found something in true freshman Brendan Sorsby at quarterback. He’s appeared in six games this season and thrown for 689 yards with six touchdowns and one interception thus far. Sorsby has also carried the ball 53 times for 127 yards and a rushing TD.

Most notably, he’s coming off the best game of his young career against a formidable Penn State program where he completed 13-of-19 passes for 269 yards, three touchdowns & one pick.

His mobility could give Wisconsin football trouble when the play breaks down. The coaching staff is high on this kid, and for good reason.

DL Andre Carter: The redshirt senior transferred to Indiana from Western Michigan, where he earned second-team All-Mid-American Conference honors — and has been a bright spot in an otherwise mediocre Indiana defense.

Carter has registered 37 tackles, 24 pressures, 2.0 sacks, and two pass deflections. He’s also the Hoosier’s highest-graded starting defensive player — and is considered an elite run defender — which is something to monitor given the Wisconsin Badgers interior offensive line struggles.

Wisconsin Football Matchup Notes

  • Wisconsin football is 41-19-2 against Indiana all-time
  • The Badgers have won 10 of the last 11 meetings since 2005.
  • The last meeting took place on December 5, 2020, where Indiana beat Wisconsin 14-6.
  • Wisconsin is 18-9-1 on the road vs. the Hoosier all-time.
  • UW’s largest margin of victory against Indiana came in 2010 when the Badgers defeated the Hoosiers 83-20.

Wisconsin Football Spread & Betting Lines

When the Wisconsin football team travels to Indiana, they’ll do so as nearly double-digit betting favorites over the Hoosiers, according to DraftKings Sportsbook.

Thus far, the Wisconsin Badgers are currently 3-4-1 against the spread this season and 3-5 on hitting the over.

  • Moneyline (ML): Indiana +330 OR Wisconsin -425
  • Against the spread: Indiana +9.5 (-110) OR Wisconsin -9.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 45 (O: -110 U: -110)

Given the current betting lines and the limited sample size we have watching Braedyn Locke lead the Wisconsin football offense — I’m going to steer clear of the spread & money line and even go as far as taking the under, respectfully.

Wisconsin should win this game. The injuries to Braelon Allen and Chimere Dike, however, cannot be understated, especially when you consider the Badgers offense still hasn’t established an identity.

If Locke has to lean on Jackson Acker and Cade Yacamelli in the backfield, there’s a real chance UW gets too one-dimensional to score consistently enough against Indiana.

Unless you wake up feeling dangerous on Saturday morning, I’d avoid betting on Wisconsin vs. Indiana.
