According to the composite rankings, Newkirk is the No. 660 player in the nation, the No. 108 receiver, and the No. 16 player in North Carolina.
Wisconsin Football Makes the Top 10 for Nasir Newkirk
Wisconsin football jumped into the mix early in Newkirk’s recruitment, becoming the fourth school to offer him in September 2023.
The Dudley High School standout is coming off of a strong junior campaign, taking snaps at both wide receiver and defensive back. According to MaxPreps, Newkirk hauled in 51 receptions for 1,123 yards and 16 touchdowns. On top of that, he notched 66 tackles, seven pass breakups, 2.0 TFLs, and a fumble recovery on defense.
Newkirk has yet to make his way to Madison, but now that Wisconsin football is in the top ten, an official visit will likely be on the horizon.
UW has yet to pick up a wide receiver commitment in the 2025 class, but they are currently the Crystal Ball favorite for four-star WR Cameron Miller. The Badgers took just one wide receiver in the 2024 recruiting cycle in Kyan Berry-Johnson.
As it stands, the Wisconsin football program holds seven commitments in the 2025 recruiting class, good for the No. 20 class in the country per the composite rankings.
