There’s no doubt Wisconsin Football has their toughest game on the 2023 schedule this weekend. The Badgers welcome the third ranked Ohio State Buckeyes to Camp Randall Saturday night. The atmosphere will be electric and it should be a full house.

Wisconsin is coming off a thrilling 25-21 win at Illinois this past Saturday. After Iowa fell to Minnesota, Wisconsin now leads the Big Ten West. Here is an early look at one of the best teams in the country.

Wisconsin Football Will Face One of the Best Offenses in the Country

If you have watched the Buckeyes this year, you will see they have a prolific offense. It’s led by arguably the best play maker in the country in wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. He will likely be the first skilled player selected in the 2024 NFL Draft and already has 766 yards and six touchdowns on only 42 receptions.

It’s not clear if Ohio State’s other receiver Emeka Egbuka will play or not. He’s had some injury issues this year. While Egbuka only has 303 yards to this point, he is also likely to be a top 15 pick in the NFL Draft. It’s safe to say this Wisconsin Football secondary has their hands full.

What might scare me more is the Buckeyes running game. It’s a balanced attack as three running backs have already recorded at least 158 yards and three touchdowns. Treyveyon Henderson and Miyan Williams are a great duo and are both hard runners. The Wisconsin defense struggled to stop the run against Illinois so this could be a big problem this weekend.

Ohio State Has Already Played a Difficult Schedule

One thing you can say about Ohio State that you can’t say about a team like Michigan is that the Buckeyes have played a pretty good schedule already. They have already beaten Notre Dame on the road and just beat Penn State at home last weekend. I know Maryland has struggled recently but the Buckeyes also beat them at home when they were 5-0.

When you add what they have already done and the talent of the roster, this is clearly one of the best teams in the country. Wisconsin football will have their hands full this weekend, but they have a great opportunity to do something that would change the look of their entire season.

This Would Be a Massive Upset

Wisconsin Football enters this game as 14.5 point underdogs. I can’t remember a time in my 29 years of life where the Badgers were that big of underdogs at home.

Despite the Badgers leading the Big Ten West, Iowa has a much easier schedule the rest of the way. I don’t see the Badgers winning this game, but this would be one of the bigger upsets in the country should they pull it off.

The Badgers have also played the Buckeyes tough in Madison over the years. In 2010, Wisconsin beat Ohio State when they were ranked number one 31-18. In 2017, the Badgers lost to Ohio State when they were ranked second in overtime.
