Wisconsin Badgers WBB Sweeps Big Ten Weekly Awards For First Time Ever
Wisconsin Badgers women’s basketball has accomplished their first ever sweep of the Big Ten weekly awards.
For the first time in program history, the Wisconsin Badgers women’s basketball team has swept the Big Ten Weekly Awards.
Announced on Monday, star big Serah Williams was named the Big Ten Player of the Week and sharpshooting freshman Tessa Grady won Big Ten Freshman of the Week. Not coincidentally, the Badgers were 2-0 last week with wins over Minnesota and Rutgers.

Williams continued her breakout season last week, averaging 27.5 points, 13.5 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks in Wisconsin’s two games. She shot an absurd 75% from the field and 83% from the free throw line while also making all three of her three-pointers. Against Rutgers she matched her career-high with 31 points in addition to her 12 boards and four blocks and has recorded a double-double in six straight games. This was her first career conference player of the week award and Wisconsin’s first since Imani Lewis back in February of 2021.
Grady has been a revelation off the bench recently and poured in a career-high 15 points (all on threes) versus Minnesota in UW’s Border Battle victory last week. It is her first conference award of her career and UW’s first since D’Yanis Jimenez on Dec. 18.
The rest of the Big Ten Weekly Honor Roll includes Penn State’s Makenna Marisa (became the seventh PSU player to crack 2,000 career points), Iowa’s Caitlin Clark (torched Nebraska to the tune of 38 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists), and Indiana’s Mackenzie Holmes (18th career double-double in win over Northwestern).
Wisconsin is back in action on Thursday evening at 5 p.m. CT with a road test against No. 8 Ohio State which will air on BTN.
