History of Wisconsin Basketball vs. Providence
The Wisconsin basketball team has faced off with the Providence Friars five times in program history. It has been a pretty one-sided matchup with the Friars owning the series 4-1 over the Badgers. Wisconsin won their first meeting in 1961, but since then, the Friars have won the last four games.
The most recent matchup between the two programs was in 2021 as a part of the Gavitt Tipoff Games. The Friars defeated the Badgers, 63-58 at the Kohl Center.
The Badgers we led by Brad Davison and Tyler Wahl with 25 and 16 points, respectively. The Badgers found themselves in a 34-23 deficit at the half. They came back and outscored the Friars by six in the second half, but their comeback fell short.
This should be a familiar matchup for some of the Wisconsin basketball players. Tyler Wahl, Chucky Hepburn, Steven Crowl, Carter Gilmore, and Marcus Ilver all logged minutes in their matchup from two years ago.
