The Wisconsin football program is well-positioned for a commitment from a three-star prospect in the 2025 recruiting class.

247Sports expert Evan Flood cast a Crystal Ball prediction in favor of the Badgers for Gordy Sulfsted, one of UW’s top defensive line targets.

According to the composite rankings, Sulfsted is the No. 607 player in the nation, the No. 60 DL, and the No. 20 player in Ohio.

The Cincinnati native currently holds 24 scholarship offers, with notable programs including Washington, Miami, Illinois, Iowa, Duke, Indiana, Louisville, Minnesota, Purdue, and many others extending offers.

Former Badgers defensive line coach Greg Scruggs was Sulfsted’s primary recruiter after extending an offer in January, but EJ Whitlow has now taken the reigns. Sulfsted had the opportunity to begin forging their relationship in person on a visit in March during spring practice.

In his junior season at St. Xavier High School, the 6-foot-5, 240-pound defensive lineman recorded 41 tackles, 6.0 TFLs, and 2.5 sacks.

Sulfsted currently has official visits scheduled for both Duke and Wisconsin. He’ll stop with the Blue Devils before making his way to Madison the following week. With the Crystal Ball in their favor, Wisconsin football could close out this recruitment during his upcoming official.

The Wisconsin football program has yet to add a defensive lineman to the 2025 recruiting class but currently holds ten commitments. According to the composite rankings, the Badgers have the No. 20 class in the country.
