The Wisconsin football program lost one of its top 2025 commits on Monday afternoon.

Rukeem Stroud, a four-star cornerback, announced on social media that he had flipped his commitment to UCF.

According to the composite rankings, Stroud is the No. 441 player in the country, the No. 37 CB, and the No. 60 player in Florida.

Stroud committed to UW at the beginning of June, shortly after his official visit. At the time of his commitment, he was one of the highest-rated prospects in Wisconsin’s 2025 recruiting class. He originally chose the Badgers over offers from Penn State, Texas A&M, Colorado, Ole Miss, Nebraska, Louisville, Minnesota, and several others.

Things moved quickly between Stroud and UCF. The Knights extended an offer on June 22nd, and just a few days later, the Florida native elected to stay close to home

In his junior season at Tampa Bay Tech High School, the 5-foot-11, 160-pound cornerback recorded 18 tackles, 17 pass breakups, six interceptions, 2.0 TFLs, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery, per MaxPreps.

Stroud is now the second de-commitment in the 2025 class for UW. He joins Cody Haddad, who flipped to Ohio State in April.

Wisconsin still holds two cornerback commits from Jai’mier Scott and Jahmare Washington in the cycle. The Badgers are still after some other top targets such as Tre Poteat and Zadian Gentry, and with Stroud’s de-commitment, the staff could ramp up their pursuit.

UW now holds 20 commitments in the 2025 cycle, which currently stands as the No. 13 class in the nation per the composite rankings.
