The Wisconsin Badgers were named in the list of finalists for a three-star defensive lineman in the 2025 class.

Abu Tarawallie, the No. 2 ranked player in Minnesota, took to social media to list his top four, including UW, alongside Michigan State, Minnesota, and Kansas State.

According to the composite rankings, Tarawallie is the No. 696 player in the country and the No. 72 defensive lineman in the 2025 cycle.

The Heritage Christian Academy standout also fielded offers from Penn State, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Iowa State. Wisconsin jumped into the mix in January, which stands as Tarawallie’s most recent offer.

He took an unofficial visit to UW at the end of April and quickly locked in an official visit, which is set to take place on June 21st. The three-star defensive linemen will also visit Michigan State on June 7th and Minnesota on June 15th.

Defensive coordinator Mike Tressel and defensive line coach EJ Whitlow have both contributed heavily in Tarawallie’s recruitment up to this point. Former DL coach Greg Scruggs also served as a primary recruiter before moving to Michigan.

Tarawallie is among the top defensive line targets at this stage in the 2025 cycle. UW has also set official visits with other prospects, including Kade Pietrzak, Drayden Pavey, and Wilnerson Telemaque.

The Wisconsin Badgers are still searching for their first defensive line commit in the 2025 cycle but currently hold 11 commitments, and the No. 19 recruiting class in the country per the composite rankings.
