As Wisconsin Badgers head wrestling coach Chris Bono often says – it’s a great day to be a Badger!

That sentiment rings extra true today because he has made a notable addition to the Wisconsin wrestling program via the transfer portal.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Wisconsin Badgers landed a commitment from Wartburg College standout Massoma Endene, who will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Who is the Wisconsin Wrestling Program’s Newest Addition?

Endene, a Texas native, is coming to the Wisconsin wrestling program by way of Wartburg College. Like Shane Liegel last season, Endene is bumping up in the competition levels but has been masterful in his career.

At Iowa Lakes Community College, Endene distinguished himself as a two-time NJCAA All-American and was the runner-up in the 2022 NJCAA Championships.

In his most recent stop at Wartburg College, he destroyed the competition. During the 2022-23 season, Endene went 27-1 with 10 pins, followed by an undefeated season in 2023-24, where he went 28-0 and secured 13 pins en route to back-to-back national championships at 197 pounds, amassing an overall record of 55-1 and 23 pins.

Welcome to the Wisconsin Badgers wrestling program, Massoma!
