Liberty University has secured a commitment in the transfer portal from former Wisconsin football transfer defensive end Mike Jarvis, who brings two years of eligibility with him to the Flames.

“It was an honor, Wisconsin, but the story is far from finished, more pages to be written and more memories to be created,” Jarvis wrote. “With that being said, Strike the Stone! Go Flames!”

Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 290 pounds, Jarvis hails from Medford, New Jersey. He originally committed to the Wisconsin football program out of high school, choosing Paul Chryst and the Badgers over several other offers including Duke, Florida State, Indiana, Nebraska, Rutgers, Syracuse, Vanderbilt, Virginia, and Wake Forest.

After redshirting during his true freshman season in 2021, Jarvis did not see any game action in the subsequent two seasons with the Badgers. Coming out of high school as a three-star recruit, he had a strong senior season with 44 tackles, three sacks, two fumble recoveries, and a forced fumble over just seven games.

At Liberty, Jarvis is looking for a fresh start where he can make an impact and earn a spot in the Flames’ defensive line rotation. The Flames’ defensive line includes notable players like Chris Boti, Bryce Dixon, and Jay Hardy. Jarvis aims to compete for playing time alongside these veterans and transfer portal addition Eli Hall from Wake Forest.

Jarvis was a member of the Wisconsin football team’s recruiting class that produced current Badgers standouts Hunter Wohler, Ricardo Hallman, Darryl Peterson, Riley Mahlman, and Jake Chaney. However, a large portion of that class is no longer with the program.
