Wisconsin Basketball Program Misses on Frontcourt Transfer Portal Target
The Badgers will continue searching the portal for frontcourt depth.
Greg Gard and the University of Wisconsin basketball program must continue their transfer portal search for frontcourt depth.
McCook Community College (JUCO) transfer center Noah Boyed, who visited Madison and even named the Badgers a finalist, announced his commitment to the LSU Tigers on Thursday.

The 7-foot big man averaged 10.9 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game on 56.7% shooting from the field during the 2022-23 season. However, Boyed suffered a knee injury that cut his year short in 2023-24.
A native of St. Lucia, Boyed will have three years of eligibility remaining with LSU.
Wisconsin Basketball Continues to Search for Transfer Center
Even though the Wisconsin basketball team has some quality depth at center entering the 2024-25 season, the Badgers want to add another player to their frontcourt to compliment Steven Crowl and Nolan Winter.
Coach Gard has been after a big man in the Chris Vogt mold each of the past two offseasons and wants to ensure they find what they’re looking for this time. Finding a shot blocker who can provide some energy and toughness in spot minutes would be a nice asset for their defense.
Wisconsin basketball is also involved with former Georgia center Frank Anselem-Ibe. However, the Badgers aren’t considered the favorite and will have to head back to the drawing board at the position to fill their final scholarship.
Right now, Chris Hodges and Carter Gilmore are the forward options off the bench if Crowl or Winter gets into foul trouble. If you can find a better option who is willing to come in and accept a limited role, you do it.
