Wisconsin basketball head coach Greg Gard must be taking notes from Luke Fickell. The Wisconsin football team is having a ton of success right now in the recruiting department, landing some highly-rated recruits and pushing them to top-15 recruiting classes, depending on which recruiting service you look at.

A lot of that success is thanks to Pat Lambert (Director of Recruiting), Max Stienecker (Director of Player Personnel), and Casey Rabach (Director of Scouting). The trio have done an excellent job working together in scouting and recruiting potential recruits and it’s brought a lot of success in recruiting for Coach Fickell and his staff in the short time he’s been in charge of the program.

Now, the Wisconsin basketball program is hoping it has its very own Lambert/Stienecker/Rabach. The Badgers have announced the hiring of Isaac Wodajo as the new Director of Recruiting and Scouting.

He will be taking the place of Kyle Blackbourn, who left the Wisconsin basketball program in April to lead the Rockhurst men’s basketball program.

Wodajo, a Milwaukee native, has made multiple stops in his coaching career. He spent time under Shaka Smart as a graduate assistant at Texas. Most recently, he was a special assistant to the head coach at Northern Kentucky.

In a press release, Wisconsin basketball head coach Greg Gard commented on the program’s hiring.

“We are excited to welcome Isaac Wodajo to our staff, and having him in this position makes Wisconsin basketball stronger,” Gard said. “Since the offseason began, I have worked to evaluate the changes in college athletics while making sure that the makeup of our staff best fits the various needs of our program. Isaac has a standout work ethic and he has gained invaluable experience at a variety of schools in a number of areas of the game – coaching, operations, scouting, and recruiting – making him an excellent fit for our program.”

The hiring of Wodajo should complete Gard’s staff after the hiring of Lance Randall and the promotion of Kirk Penney to a full-time assistant.
