What a GREAT day to be a Wisconsin Badgers wrestling fan, eh? Newly minted Wisconsin Badger Massoma ‘Mo’ Endene is already making a name for himself in the tournament scene.

After committing to Coach Chris Bono and the Badgers on May 21, 2024 – Endene has secured a U23 freestyle National Championship at 97KG and has only been on the team for 13 days.

You read that correctly – THIRTEEN DAYS!

In the tournament competition Mo Endene, wrestling for Wisconsin RTC, went 5-0 and secured 27 points while surrendering one single, solitary point.

Is that good? No. That’s elite scoring and defense!

What does this mean for the Wisconsin Badgers at 197LB?

I think its safe to say that Mo Endene has a coffee-grinder on the starting spot at 197LB. While the rest of the roster preview and overview will be released in the fall –  barring injury or upset – this is a much needed hammer for Coach Bono to have on the roster.

This dominance by Endene brings to light an interesting dynamic. Will former resident and starter at 197LB, Braxton Amos, return to Madison for his last rodeo with the Badgers after missing this season with an Olympic redshirt? If so – what could that mean to have both men in the room to lead the young guys in the new era sans stalwarts Eric Barnett and Dean Hamiti.

That information isn’t know now but stay locked in with Badger Notes for dedicated coverage of the Wisconsin Badgers wrestling program!
