The Wisconsin Badgers have a nice pipeline of young wrestlers looks to be strong right now – especially at the 141LB class. Zan Fugitt, who recently wrapped up a 8-5 regular season as a true freshman, was in action and brought home hardware at the U20 World Team trials in the 60KG Greco Roman bracket.

Fugitt, wrestling for Wisconsin RTC, opened his day with a dominant 11-1 win over No.2 seed Bubba Wilson (Air Force RTC). He followed that up with a tough defeat to Rhett Peak (Checkmate WC).

The Wisconsin Badgers young fella bounced back and secured a 7-2 win over Treygen Morin (Suples WC) and finished his day with a second victory over Bubba Wilson (Air Force RTC) in the third place match.

Wisconsin’s 141LB class will be interesting to see if the incumbent, Felix Lettini, can hold off Fugitt for the starting spot. Head Coach Chris Bono has built a stable of young up and coming prospects that can move around in weight and give the team a power punch to compete in the Big Ten slate. This like almost all the other weight classes will be an interesting battle to follow headed into the fall.
