As Wisconsin Badgers head wrestling coach Chris Bono says – it’s a great day to be a Badger!

The Badgers recently made a exciting add from the transfer portal with former Central Michigan wrestler – and Wisconsin state champion from Hortonville – Wyatt Skebba.

After losing Eric Barnett, the three-time All-American from Hortonville, its nice to add another homegrown ‘Polar Bear’ with multiple years of eligibility.

Who is Wisconsin Badgers Wrestling’s Newest Addition?

Wyatt Skebba, the former 113LB WIAA State Champion and three-time finalist took his talents to Central Michigan after his Wisconsin state title. Following a redshirt season at CMU that saw him compile a 9-7 record he decided to enter the transfer portal.

Enter Head Coach Chris Bono and the Badgers.

When Wisconsin called he knew it was time to come home. Skebba is likely to compete in the 125LB weight class and that particular class is wide open after the departure of fellow Hortonville stud Eric Barnett.

After some film review it is clear that the former Central Michigan wrestler has the ability to compete with top talents and will be a good infusion of talent for the room. In the below clip you can see that he has the Bono mentality where regardless of the score – keep attacking.

Welcome to the Wisconsin Badgers wrestling program, Wyatt!
